Our Story

At Top Gro Agro Ltd, our journey is deeply rooted in the lands of Mallaig, Alberta.

2011: The Machura family took the reins of W. Dechaine Enterprises, a well-established family business with a rich history dating back to 1967, marking the beginning of a new chapter in agricultural excellence and the start of Dechaine Enterprises 2011.

2014: In September, we proudly opened the fastest, largest, and most advanced blending facility in the Lakeland area. This facility stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality products and services to our farming community.

2015: With the retirement of previous owner and manager, Leon Dechaine, we embraced a new identity. Chris Schuh was promoted to Manager, and Top Gro Agro Ltd was born. This rebranding was more than just a name change; it was a clear statement of our dedication to being the top choice for agricultural solutions.

2016: Our efforts were recognized when Top Gro Agro was honored as the Retailer of the Year. This accolade reflected our relentless pursuit of excellence and our deep-rooted commitment to our customers and community.

2017: We constructed an impressive pole shed to shelter our large delivery fleet and equipment.

2019: In the spring, we added two liquid impregnation systems to our volumetric blending system. This upgrade allows us to provide better solutions for micronutrient deficiencies and properly treat urea with premium nitrogen stabilizers, preventing losses of our customers' nitrogen investment. In July, we took another significant step forward by dismantling the old fertilizer blending plant on Railway Avenue. This move symbolized our step into modernization and efficiency, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

2020: In June, we completed the construction of our massive chemicals and seed storage warehouse, which also includes a large maintenance shop and wash bay. This was the final piece to getting all our services conveniently onto one property.
